Webpages

This week was a little more challenging than I expected. The webpage was definitley more diffiult than I thought it would be. With that assignment, however, I had some fun with Frankenstein. I chose to look at the story through the creature's point of view. It was fun to try and decide what exactly he would say in response to questions and different situations. I really like the poems this week except Sailing to Byzantium. It was difficult for me to understand. I do think, however, that with each week it becomes a little easier for me to understand what I have read.

Poems

I really enjoyed the poems from this week. I especially like Goblin Market. It showed how powerful temptation can be, but also how powerful women can be. I also really enjoyed Say Over Again from last week. I am a hopeless romantic and I understand what she is saying. I like to be told I am loved and shown that I am loved. If she is the kind of girl who needs to be constantly shown love, then that is what her man will do if he truly loves her.

Week 4

My favorite reading this week was The Forsaken Merman. It was very interesting to see what everyone thought of it and there were many different views. I think it portrayed very true how many feel about religion. A lot of people think that if they become religious, they can no longer have fun. This, however, is not true. I think a religious person can have just as much fun as anyone else, only when the fun is over they know what is truly important!

Frankenstein=Depression

I had never read Frankenstein before, but I think it might be one of the most depressing books I have ever read. I don't particularly like endings where everyone is dead. At first I felt very sorry for Victor because his creation was destroying his life, but later, it was the creature who I pitied. He had no way of knowing how to act around other humans and no one took the time to teach him. Why did Victor make him so hideous anyway? I didn't really understand why. Until next time....
